Eligibility: B.A. (Hons.) in Sanskrit with 45% marks in aggregate or B.A. with 45% marks in subject of Sanskrit (Elective/Compulsory) or 50% marks in aggregate; or Shastri (Vishishta with English) with at least 45% marks (out of the aggregate excluding the additional papers) in Sanskrit.
Admission: On academic merit
Examinations Scheme: Under Semester system w.e.f. the Academic session 2008-2009
Internal Assessment: Minimum 20% marks in each paper shall be earmarked for Internal Assessment. The following parameters (with weightage of each) forming the basis of award of Internal Assessment shall be adopted:
(i) One Test/Seminar for each paper (one hour duration): 50% = 10 Marks
(ii) One Class (Surprise) Test for each paper (one period duration): 25% = 05 Marks
(iii) Attendance: 25% = 05 Marks
Marks for Attendance will be given as under:
(1) 91% onwards : 5 Marks
(2) 81% to 90% : 4 Marks
(3) 75% to 80% : 3 Marks
(4) 70% to 74% : 2 Marks
(5) 65% to 69% : 1 Mark

Admission: (i) Marks obtained in the Entrance Test: 50%
(ii) Marks obtained in the Qualifying Examination: 50%
(iii) Candidates who secure minimum 40% marks in Entrance Test (35% marks for SC/ST candidates) will be considered for admission.
Eligibility: Master’s Degree in the concerned subject, i.e., M.A. Sanskrit, with at least 55% marks (pass marks in M.A. Sanskrit for S.C. candidates).
Examinations Scheme: M.Phil. Sanskritcourse (under annual system) has two theory papers. The first paper is compulsory for all students.The second paper pertains to four optional specializations. The student can opt any one of the following Groups/Options for the second paper (Specialized Theory Paper):

given within one month from the date of meeting of the Board of P.G. Studies in which the case is recommended for Ph.D. registration)

Eligibility:At least 55% marks in the main subject at Master Degree Level or qualifying examination recognized as equivalent thereto (SC/ST/physically and visually handicapped candidates will be given a relaxation of 5% in the minimum percentage of marks).
Admission: (i)Marks of qualifying examination + Marks at graduation level + Marks of qualifying Entrance Test for those candidates who are not exempted from Entrance Test in terms of Clause 7.8 of Ph.D. Ordinance.
(ii) Marks obtained at PG level examination + Marks obtained at UG level examination + Marks obtained at 10+2 examination for those candidates who are exempted from Entrance Test in terms of Clause 7.8 of Ph.D. Ordinance.
