The University Press which was established in the year 1964 with the financial assistance from the University Grants Commission has been executing the entire printing work of the University efficiently during the past 46 years. The Press has well-planned letterpress, offset and digital printing, binding and Composing sections equipped with following machines and equipments: -
Apart from various time bound jobs of examinations and other branches/ offices/departments of the University, the Press also prints the Annual Publications, viz. Research Journal of Haryana Studies, Research Journal of Arts & Humanities, Digest of Indological Studies, University Calendars, Annual Report, Student Magazines, Prospectus, Syllabi, Text-Books, Distance Education Lessons etc. In fact all the General Books published by the University are printed at the University Press. The production of University Press has increased to Rs. 1.7 Crores. The facilities available in K.U. Press are also being utilized for imparting Practical instructions to the students of B.Tech Printing, Graphics and Packaging course.
The Publication Bureau
The University started its own Publication Bureau in 1975 with a view to publish low-priced Textbooks for undergraduate classes. The Publication Bureau was later on merged with the University Press and the Printing and Publication Department was formed in 1978. The Bureau has published sixty Textbooks in English, Hindi, Punjabi and Sanskrit Languages so far and some of them have also been reprinted. The Publication Bureau caters to the needs of students, Regd. Book-Sellers by arranging sale of priced publications like admission forms, prospectus, Examination forms, Syllabi textbook and Hostel Rules forms.
The Bureau has also published 44 learned works of teachers in the subject of Sanskrit, Hindi, English, Linguistics, Economics, History, Maths. and Education. With sincere efforts and efficient working of the staff as well as full co-operation of all concerned, the annual sale of Publication Bureau is increasing annually.
Future Prospects: Service, Sustenance and excellence under the able guidance of the Vice-Chancellor and Registrar, who are kind enough in promoting quality and production of University Printing & Publication Department by way of filling vacant posts and allowing purchases of new Printing Machines and other accessories and desirous of having maximum production from the existing infrastructure as well as from the identified new techniques.
